Representatives from the SR209 bridge replacement project attended the June 5th township meeting to discuss detours.  Brian Teles, Senior Project Manager sent this email with various detailed maps:  As discussed, as part of the SR209 replacement project, we are replacing a section of the stone arch that carries West Broad (SR209) over the Wabash Creek in Tamaqua near Berwick Street.  The plan is to Let this project in December of this year and have construction occur while school is out in the summer of 2018.  As discussed, the larger trucks will be required to take the current truck detour for the existing load posted bridge.  As a precautionary measure, to help catch trucks that are not paying attention to the signs at the beginning of the detour (i.e. SR61 in Pottsville) we will have signs that tell any errant trucks to turn around via Old 209 (T162).  No detour traffic would be using any township roads except for any trucks that we want to turn around so they do not try to go through Tamaqua when SR209 is detoured.
